About Highway Infrastructure

Highway Infrastructure Limited (HIL) is an Indian diversified infrastructure development company that was incorporated in 1995, and its operations are mainly focused on tollways collection, EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) projects, and the development of real estate. The company has been in business over 20 years and it focuses on construction and maintenance of roads, highway, bridges and residential work.

Collection is the main revenue generator of HIL and it is concentrated with the tollway collection segment. The company has the toll systems in 11 states and one Union Territory and the company carries out projects on a competitive-bidding basis. It is one of the select operators deploying ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology on highway such as the Delhi-Meerut Expressway. HIL also employs the use of ETC that is combined with RFID tags and digital payments to facilitate easy toll collection. By August 31, 2024, it had implemented 24 tollway projects and had 7 active projects.

Strategizing to projects, planning and execution in EPC infrastructure segment is done with HIL in house teams. Already the company has managed to complete 63 projects and 20 are under implementation in such regions as Indore, Ratlam and Khandwa (Madhya Pradesh). These are civil buildings, bridges, irrigation structures, roads and tanks.

The real estate arm of the firm specialized in building and selling of homes as well as business premises. It is the smallest line of business but HIL has done gated community and housing projects in designated regions. By the month of August in 2024, HIL had 398 employees working in the settings of its toll, EPC and real estate businesses.

Objects of the Highway Infrastructure IPO

The net proceeds from the fresh issue of ₹97.5 crore will be used for:

  • ₹65 crore – Working capital requirements
  • Remaining amount – General corporate purposes

This shows the company's intent to strengthen operational capabilities and fund ongoing infrastructure projects.

Promoters Selling via Offer for Sale (OFS)

Two promoters are offloading shares through the OFS route:
